City of Baku is actually an ancient Armenian city designated by Aurelius Pacorus or Bakur, an Armenian King, who reigned between 161-163 CE.
He is known from a Greek funeral inscription in Rome as a dedication from him in the memory of his brother Aurelius Merithates.
In the inscription dedication Pacorus describes himself as:Αύρήλιος Πάκορος βασιλεύς μεγάλης Άρμενίας or from the Greek translationAurelius Pacorus King of Greater Armenia.
