2nd-Century Symbolic Medallion discovered in SisianA silver medallion of the 2nd century BC discovered during excavations in Sisian of Syunik province in Armenia features an image of the “Golden Eagle” squeezing a wild cat, most likely a leopard.

The symbol of the Golden Eagle was important in prehistoric motifs in the Armenian Highlands and was also a symbol of many Armenian ancient dynasties.

For example, the Golden Eagle is part of the symbol of the Artaxiad dynasty.
