Remains Of A 7.5 Million Years Old Mammoth Discovered In Caesarea – Historical Armenia

During excavations near the Yamulin reservoir in the province of Caesarea in Historical Armenia, the remains of a mammoth aged 7.5 million years were discovered. This animal is considered the ancestor of elephants.

The huge mammoth remains were found by a farmer. According to experts, the animal lived 7.5 million years ago and was 3 meters 50 centimeters tall. The skull and lower jaw of the fully preserved animal are the largest body parts of a mammoth ever found.

Archaeological excavations in the area will continue. This interesting find sheds light on the history of the region. It is expected that excavations in this area will last another 30 years.
