Synthetic Paint Has Been Used Back In The Times Of The Kingdom Of Van

Archaeological excavations in the area of the Ayanis fortress near Lake Van built by Van King Rusa II (685-645 BC) revealed the oldest known samples of artificial synthetic paint.

According to researchers, one of the unearthed walls contained old paint aged approximately 2,700 years.

This kind of paint is called “Egyptian Blue” and had been found before in Egypt.
