Variations of Armenian national costumes

Variations of Armenian national costumes according to the historical regions of Armenian residence.

Armenian national clothing is divided into two types: western and eastern. For example, in the costumes of the regions of Eastern Armenia, you can notice elements common for the Caucasian nations: papahu and breast-breast gazers, which were most likely necessary for the mountainous area.

The colors were more strict and darker in the suits, but traditional Armenian ornament continued to be applied to some items of clothing and household.

Western Armenia’s costumes, in large numbers, preserved their identity in the form of patterns, colors, and other details of the Armenian people’s culture.
