It is unlikely that they were particularly interested in the participation of Armenians in the Great Silk Road or the truth about the Tatar-Mongol yoke in Rus: the project leaders were very business-oriented.
Garrett Hellenthal, a college employee of the University of London, and members of the Max Planck Institute of Evolutionary Anthropology in Germany, worked on it for several years.
Most likely, it was a commission by war traders, and its purpose was to create a genetic weapon. A weapon that acts selectively and relentlessly, based on the genetic specifics of the target group.
But as always, the relentless law of fairness “There’s no bad without good” worked, and humanity found itself in possession of a genetic map of the world’s main ethnic groups. Yes, it’s highly politicized, often confusing causes and effects, and conceals ethnic criminal groups that own the world’s money and are most likely the project’s customers.
Yes, the authors of the study failed to find enough representatives of this rare nation in California and other areas poor in Armenian immigrants to formulate a clear and scientifically grounded verdict about the genetic portrait of the Armenians.
In the meantime, due to the incomplete research base, they painted Poles and Lithuanians as donors of the Armenian gene. Not vice versa. Although there are no Polonisms or Lithuanian influences in the Armenian language, there are plenty of Armenian influences in the latter, and we have already discussed this topic in the article “Armenian Names-2”.
Meanwhile, historical blood, ideas, and language donations are always interdependent with great accuracy.
But the project managers can no longer lie, as one by one, publications by participants of this large-scale genetic mapping project are being released in the world’s scientific journals, Science and Nature, so far about the migrations of the Bronze Age, i.e., cultural humanity with a hoe, which has shifted the vector from cannibalism to humanism and creation.
One of the latest scientific publications on this topic is an article by Dr. Levon Yepiskoposyan, a doctor of biological sciences and a scientist with a global reputation, and foreign co-authors.
Despite all the ideological restrictions imposed by the funding side, the scientific article shows: the current generation of Armenians living in the east of their homeland, the Armenian highlands, in both Armenian states, are the direct unmingled descendants of those who lived here 5-6 thousand years ago, and most likely – even earlier.
This is part of the truth, but no longer are there songs about migrants from the Balkans, the poor defeated “Urartu”, and “kapuyt acher e unetsel haye”.
But let’s return to the map, according to which the genetic code of the Han people in China is 3.9% Armenian. You remember that we as children used to giggle about our ties with the great nation, whose dynasties sound like an Armenian counting rhyme, “Tin – Shin – Min”, and incredibly meaningful in meanings.
In our childhood, we used to tell hilarious jokes: there was so much similarity in hard work and an incredible contrast in quantitative characteristics. Upon verification, it turned out that jokingly, we preserved the memory of the deeds of long past days when Armenian “hopanschiki” strictly along their meridian went east to China and west to Basconia, as they could not withstand competition at home. But in the new lands, they became civilizers and rich.
So, in the Han gene, 3.9% is the Armenian gene. These are the Han, who make up 91% of China’s entire population, that is, about 1.2 billion people! At the same time, we must remember that only 300 years ago, in 1700, according to F. Braudel (“Material Civilization, Economy and Capitalism XV-XVIII centuries. Volume 1. Structures of Everyday Life. The Possible and Impossible – 1989), the population of China was 130 million people, i.e., 10 times less than now. While our nation, as a result of the world hunt declared on it, has the reverse progression for the same period. According to the “History of Russia” by S. Glinka, written at the discretion of Russian Emperor Alexander I, in 1600-1700, the population of Armenians in the annexed to Russia, i.e., Eastern Armenia, was 23 million.
This figure did not include the much more advanced and populous Western Armenia as part of the Ottoman Empire. And numerous Armenian settlements in Eastern and Western Europe, the Near and Middle East, and India.
It’s no joke to say, according to the study of the Russian historiographer, 75% of world trade was in the hands of Armenians, 90% of salt trade, and not only food but also produced for metallurgy and other industries.
World silk trade for the same period belonged exclusively to Armenians, all 100%. And only due to the absence of oil discoveries at that time, it is not indicated that they later became the result of Armenian technologies and Armenian capital for all 100%. The Nobels emerged only on the wings of revolutions.
Thus, at the dawn of capitalism, goods and money mostly passed through Armenian hands, and not only passed, but turned into the first factories and plants from Fryazino in Russia to silk spinning mills in southern China. How could they not be genocided everywhere? And not only in the Ottoman Empire.
Even ancient Chinese philosophers said: “Rule over history – you rule over the present, and the future is in your hands.” It is according to this principle that the 19th century can be called the beginning of the appearance of fake “masters of history”, who took this path to become masters of world money.
And they did become! The fatal role of this falsification in our national fate is extremely great: if approximately equal in number of Chinese Han and Armenians there were around 120 million in 1600-1700, today the former are ten times more (1.2 billion). While we are ten times less even by optimistic estimates (12.0 million).
That is, just in 300 years, which could be considered a moment in our long history, a difference of 100 times appeared. Nothing to sneeze at! In fact, this is the population ratio of Armenia and the USA. Can you imagine the opposite situation?
I appeal to these statistics not out of national boasting, in which we are often accused by the ill-informed and uncultured. No. The point here is that such an important ancient people with their first language could not but leave a mark in the languages of the nations with which they neighbored, traded, taught, and learned. Fraternized, studied, married.

There is only one word in this beautiful, delicate love poetry that gives away completely that it is not Ayrēnē’s. That the verses are dedicated to a Chinese wanderer, not an Armenian pandukht. And this word is “li”, a unit of measurement in the Chinese metric system, equivalent to 500 meters. Or 50 grams of gold.
At the same time, Li – culture as the basis of Confucian worldview, accepted as a state doctrine during the Han dynasty. Similarly, Li is what the Chinese call the indigenous people of Hainan Island in the PRC. And a full-flowing river, even depicted on a 20-yuan bill, is also Li. And generally, the Chinese themselves call the language of China Li. Even a grain bin in China is a liacank.
If the River Lee in England was not the only source of drinking water after the horrifying pollution of the Thames in the late Middle Ages, I would have thought that Li is purely a Chinese phenomenon. And that either the Chinese or the English named the river in the Moscow region, recently rich in catch, Likovaya.
Or that the Russians named the full-flowing river in Ireland Lee – the one that flows into the Celtic Sea. Or that it was the Irish who named Lee a commune in the Ender department in France. Or that the French named the largest park in London, Lee Valley.
But honestly, Aramais Saakyan, a lover of epigrams and a wonderful poet with a wonderful sense of humor, once, finally getting through to me on business, improvised: “Gehetzkyui Liya, sirtes keznov li a”.
At the same time, he was not Chinese, Irish, French, English, or Russian, but a talented poet who felt his native language as the heads ironed out with wiki-knowledge do not.
Because in this language “li” is fullness, as in the Confucian worldview, which is surprisingly consonant with the Armenian worldview. Hence the semantic series of words “perfection” (liakatar), “prosperity” (liutyun), “full moon” (lialusin), “full value” (liarzhek), etc.
What’s more: it’s enough to simply shift the stress to the Armenian classical at the end of the word – and the class of plants “liana” gets not just a different sound, but also a meaning: “let it be full”! Which, however, all wild lianas, including city grape vines, do without any care, watering, and supervision.
At the same time, girlfriends and second cousins called me Lika along with their sisters and girlfriends, who were called differently: Lily, Liana, Liliana. Why? Because the meaning was embedded in all these names the same! Liya – “she is full”; Lily – “she is fully full”;
Liana – “let it be full”, and finally Liliana – “let it be fully full”. And always, as in all blessing names, it is about the fullness of virtues, the fullness that fits into the cultural worldview of the Armenians. And in the worldview of the Chinese, for whom the names Wang and Li top the ranking of the most popular.
For the Han people – or the Hai people? – who, taking into account the cosmic growth rates of this great nation, not so long ago willingly entered into kinship with the people from the country, which is still called the Beauty of the East.
Of course, Vartan Mamikonian is as much Chinese as Charles Aznavour is French, Ba Mao is Burmese, and Ivan Aivazovsky is Russian. But is it important? The greatness of the Armenians and the great peoples who gave them shelter lies in the fact that they know how to make friends and work.
As in Armenian fairy tales, when a new friend from a different tribe turns out to be a kind wizard who has come to thank for a feat once accomplished. To thank the wanderer who has forgotten how to return home and considered China his new homeland.
