Armenians Have Not Abandoned The Idea Of Creating Armenia – 1912

Armenians Have Not Abandoned The Idea

“It is more profitable to support the Caucasian Tatars than the Armenians who are increasingly controlling the economy of the region with each day.

The former (Tatars) will not think about having their own state for a long time. At the same time, the frivolous and dangerous idea of creating Armenia has not yet perished in the Armenians.”

Sergey Sazonov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Empire, October 1912.

P.S. Until 1936, the Azerbaijanis used to be called Caucasian Tatars.
