While describing slave-owning in the world history, some historians mistakenly attribute the existence of a slave system to Armenia.
But even these historians speak about slavery in Armenia reservedly. Some point to the short duration of the slave period as a result of the rapid transition from generic government to feudalism while others indicate the softness of the slave system of Armenia.
In fact, Armenia is the only country in the world which has never had any castes, slaves, or serfs.
In Armenian states, there were 4 classes – the nobility, priests, townspeople, and villagers. The Armenians didn’t have any idea of a “despicable class”.
