The legacy of the Caucasus confirms the destruction of the Armenian cemetery in Shkhnakh, which was previously reported by Artsakh Mоnument Watch.
According to Artsakh Manoument Watch, the Armenian cemetery was founded in the mid-18th century and was in use until the fall war of 2020, before the village was evacuated. Satellite images show that the destruction occurred from April 12 to June 18.
This is the second historical cemetery that was destroyed along the newly built Fizuli-Shushi road, after the Mets Tagher / Taghlar cemetery. The heritage of the Caucasus calls on the Azerbaijani authorities to stop the destruction of cemeteries.
