The French Parliament unanimously adopted a resolution in favor of Armenia and proposes sanctions against Azerbaijan, the Armenian Embassy in France reported. Among other provisions, the decision of the French National Association:
Calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all Armenian prisoners of war and return to their homeland.
It is suggested that the government consider the possibility of applying individual sanctions in case of attacks and occupation of the sovereign lands of Armenia by Azerbaijan continue.
Calls on the government to continue mediation efforts to solve the security problem of the Armenian population in Nagorno-Karabagh, according to the provisions of the National Assembly Resolution No. 502 of 2020 (the aforementioned decision suggests that the government should recognize Nagorno Karabagh).
Suggests the government to consider the possibility of boosting Armenia’s defence capacity.
Calls on international organizations to take all measures to protect the Armenian cultural and religious heritage in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh territories under Azerbaijan-controlled.
The decision was presented on behalf of the majority of the members of the French National Assembly, the governing “Renaissance”.
The Armenian Ambassador and the staff of the Armenian Embassy in France attended the resolution adoption session as guests of honor.
