Taner Akçam’s Book “Killing Orders: Talat Pasha’s Telegrams and the Armenian Genocide” Published In Armenian

The Armenian translation of Turkish historian Taner Akçam’s book “Killing Orders: Talat Pasha’s Telegrams and the Armenian Genocide” (2016) was published in April 2019. This work presents to the reader exceptional telegrams refuting the main thesis of the Turkish policy of denial.

These telegrams prove that Talat had ordered the killings. Akçam thinks that the study and publication of such documents is the most serious blow to Turkish denial.

According to Armenpress, the presentation of the Armenian translation took place on April 22, 2019, at the Armenian General Benevolent Union. The book was published by Newmag Publishing Company. Editor Armen Sargsyan noted that the book emphasizes that the Armenian Genocide has been denied from the first seconds of its implementation.

Writing this work, Akçam was guided by the following principle – combine facts and design theses so that they could all be proven. This way, if someone decides to argue against the book, they will have to refute every point and argument and put forward an antithesis.
