The Hasun Caves are in the process of being included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The cave complex has more than 300 interconnected “rooms” and is considered an analog to the historical site of Hasankeyf under the Elsa Dam.
The Hasun Caves are located at the foot of Mount Albat, on the highest hills of the region. The caves feature remarkable baths, rocky steps, stone slabs, a stone church, and a mini-amphitheater next to the church.
