The Arab League is preparing sanctions against Turkey. This was announced by the Al Monitor columnist Mustafa Somnes.
“Turkey’s economy is currently rather weak due to the coronavirus pandemic. The country also has serious problems with the national currency which have hit the Erdogan regime in 2018. The situation in Turkey may worsen as Arab countries, represented by the Arab League, impose economic sanctions against Ankara.”
Egypt is the leader of the united Arab political line against Turkey, as demonstrated by the last meeting of the League.
“Of course, it is still a question to what extent Arab states can take action against Ankara, but Turkey’s economy is now too vulnerable to be able to ignore or resist large-scale sanctions,” Infoteka24 writes.
