Russian-Israeli journalist and political activist Avigdor Eskin called for the opening of a memorial to Charles Aznavour and the Armenian Genocide in Israel. Famous Israeli political scientist and public figure Avigdor Eskin published a video on his Facebook page dedicated to Charles Aznavour who had passed away on October 1, 2018.
“Not everyone knows, but the maestro and his family during the occupation of Paris by the Germans saved Jews. They themselves were refugees from Turkey. They themselves had been saved. Indeed, in 1915, Armenians were being massacred in Turkey. They had been saved and while in Paris themselves saved Jews. This is what we need to know about Aznavour. This is an eternal memory,” said Avigdor Eskin.
The political scientist also called various Israeli associations to join his proposal to the authorities of Israel to open a memorial to Charles Aznavour in the holy land in memory of Armenians-victims of the 1915 genocide.
According to Avigdor Eskin, the opening of the memorial is more important than the promotion of the recognition of the Armenian Genocide in the Israeli Knesset.
Eternal love and eternal memory to Charles Aznavour.
