Turkish Archaeologist Published A Caricature Of Aliyev And Turkey

Turkish archaeologist Koray Pehlivanoğlu is very active on Twitter, publishing analytical and historical facts about the latest events in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Recently, Pehlivanoğlu posted a caricature with maps of Armenia and Artsakh (including the Shahumyan district and other parts of the Martakert district, now controlled by Azerbaijan). In the caricature, the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan is seen sitting on books, while the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is sitting on a bloodied oil tank with Azerbaijani and Turkish flags.

The archaeologist, considering the possible anger and criticism of Turkish-Azerbaijani users, noted in his post that he knows that the caricature hurts, but it does display reality.

He later made another note:

“You are very angry at this post, but in fact, Armenians are very influential in fields such as science and art all over the world. This, willy-nilly, gives Armenians the opportunity for cultural hegemony.”

Pehlivanoğlu also said that in the near future, he will prepare a series of articles about Armenians and the benefits they give to the world. The articles will be targeted at Turkish and Azerbaijani users who “humiliate” Armenians.

“Believe me, you will swallow your little tongues.”
