Turkish authorities are building a park and a wedding hall in the Assyrian and Armenian cemeteries in the province of Mardin. Thus, the ruling Justice and Development Party fulfilled its campaign promise made to local residents in March this year.
The opening of the park and the wedding hall will take place in the coming days. However, some local residents opposed this project, noting that Assyrian and Armenian cemeteries had been discovered in the area.
They stated that they had repeatedly appealed to the relevant authorities with a request to stop the construction of the park and the wedding hall, but their requests were ignored.
