In historical Western Armenia on the territory of ancient Kharberd, an ancient stone book with Armenian engravings was discovered.
It was found during archaeological excavations in the city of Elazığ (historical Kharberd) located in the territory of modern Turkey near the Armenian church of Surb Karapet (Սուրբ Կարապետ, the Turkish name – Kizil-Kilise).
The stone book measures 80 cm x 53 cm and is approximately 165 years old. It should be noted that the Surb Karapet church in Kharberd was built in the 19th century.
According to the reports, the stone magazine was transferred to the Historical Museum of Elazığ.
