Armenian graves have been discovered in the Nazilli district of the Turkish province of Aydın.
The city of Aydın was founded by the ancient inhabitants of Tarsus and used to be called Tralles.
According to the Turkish website NazılıHabadis, tombstones with Armenian inscriptions were found during works in the park of the former police building.
After their discovery, the staff of the Aydın Museum arrived to confirm the fact that Armenians were buried at this place.
Presumably, the gravestones date back to the 17th century. They were taken to safety.
