Azerbaijani Forces Open Intense Fire at Sotk Mine: Worker Injured

Azerbaijani troops again opened fire at the Sotk gold mine in Gegharkunik Province of Armenia, injuring one of its workers, GeoProMining Gold spokesperson Ruzanna Grigoryan confirmed to Panorama.am on Saturday.

“The intense shootings began last night and continued today. As a result of the fire, one of the mine employees was injured in the left arm,” she said.

“Fortunately, the internal organs were not damaged. The wounded is in hospital and is now in stable condition, the injuries are not life-threatening,” Grigoryan noted.

All employees have been evacuated and the mine operation has been suspended amid safety concerns,” she added.
