Ways to Decipher Armenian Cryptograms

We present to your attention a very interesting film on decrypting Armenian cryptograms. It turns out that this is not at all difficult. The film’s scriptwriter is Samvel Karapetyan, editor is Trdat Karapetyan, and composer is Aydina Davudi.

A cryptogram is a type of puzzle that consists of a small piece of encrypted text. Typically, the cipher used to encrypt the text is fairly simple, so the cryptogram can be decrypted manually.

A cryptogram often uses “wildcards” where each letter is replaced with a different letter or number. To solve the riddle, you need to restore the original inscription.

The ciphers used in cryptograms were not originally created for entertainment purposes but for real encryption of military or personal secrets.
