The Maral Ensemble In Istanbul Turned 40 Years Old

Over 2019, the Istanbul Song and Dance Ensemble Maral has been preparing for the festive concert dedicated to the 40th anniversary of its founding which was held at the Istanbul Congress Center in on December 15, 2019.

The Maral Song and Dance Ensemble was founded in 1980 by Benoit Kuzubashi and his friends. The main goal of the ensemble has since been to present Armenian culture, dance, songs, and music.

Since 1992, the former dancers of the ensemble Maral, now spouses Karpis and Iris Chapkan, took up the position of dance instructors. Currently, the ensemble Maral involves dancers from 6 to 35 years old in a group of 200 dancers.
