In the 19th century, the Russians called all the dances of the Caucasus Lezginka.

Well, the dance was named after the nation who first turned up and presented the dance.

This is a battle dance in a 6/8 or 2/4 rhythm.

In Armenian culture, it was the Dance of the Eagle (Artsvapar (Արծվապար).
