The Armenian Language is Taught at Michigan State University

In 2016, the State News reported that the Armenian language was included into the educational program of the Michigan State University. The Armenian language became one of the additional less-common languages to be taught at the university.

The American educational organization Mellon Foundation sponsored the introduction of those languages into the MSU’s educational program. The new LCTL language courses were set to be taught via CourseShare, an online distance-learning program.

Even though the leaners of LCTL agreed that the access to the less-common languages is important, they thought that the MSU could have done more. At the time, MSU was also considering to hire full-time teachers to deliver in-person education.

The introduction of the Armenian language has certainly become of most interest to those Americans who have Armenian roots.
