Armenian-Language Street Signs in Córdoba, Argentina

Street signs in Argentina’s city of Córdoba, the second largest city in the country, were translated into Armenian. The authorities of Córdoba decided to establish bilingual signs on the streets with Armenian and Spanish names.

“The author of the initiative was a member of the city council of Córdoba Lucas Palyan, an Armenian by origin. The initiative is timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia,” says the Facebook post of the Armenian community of Córdoba.

It is also noted that the members of the Armenian community of the city sent a letter of gratitude to mayor Ramón Javier Mestre in connection with the establishment of bilingual signs.
