Armenian virtuoso violinist

Italian violinist Nicollò Paganini was a phenomenon of violin techniques. The lightness and agility of his performance gives him the right to be considered the most gifted violinist of all time, and his genius forms modern violin art.

His talents made their own imprint on his compositions, making them so complicated and yet so magnificent that very few other violinists managed to perform his works.

Armenian violinist Nikolay Madoyan is one of them. He was the first violinist in history to perform Paganini’s six concertos in one evening. Madoian performed them without help from music sheets which makes his accomplishment indeed brilliant.

Madoyan performed very complicated violin repertoire as well, such as Beethoven’s 10 Sonatas for Violin and Piano (played in three evenings in sequence), Paganini’s 24 Caprices (played in one evening without interruption), Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin (played in one evening), Six Sonatas for Violin and Cembalo (played in one evening), Eugène Ysaÿe’s Six Sonatas (played in one evening).
