Nueva Armenia Of Honduras

Another Armenia appeared on the world map, located 12,068.56 km from the Republic of Armenia.

As you might know, in Latin America, there are four cities named Armenia – in Colombia, El Salvador, Belize, and Honduras. And recently, a town called Nueva Armenia (New Armenia) appeared in the territory of Honduras.

According to La Tribuna, the constant floods of the Aguan River have affected many peasant farms of Armenia in Honduras. 10 years ago, most farmers have moved to the lands 50 km south of the capital Tegucigalpa.

The inhabitants of the “old” Armenia called their new colonies New Armenia. But the country’s authorities have only recently assigned the official name Nueva Armenia to the settlement. On the occasion of the event, festive celebrations have been held in New Armenia where residents of “old” Armenia have also been invited.
