A village called Armenia is located in Central America, in the Cayo District in Belize, 8 km south of Belize’s capital city Belmopan.
Armenia is lying in a picturesque jungle area with rivers and caves at the foot of the Maya Mountains. It is connected to the capital via a highway. Southwest of the village is St. Herman’s Blue Hole National Park.
About 1 thousand people now live in this village. The first Armenians appeared in this area at the beginning of the 19th century. The first settlers of this village were refugees from Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras.
