Garegin Nzhdeh’s victories are a fact

In the early autumn of 1920, there was a period when only Meghri and a few nearby villages remained under the control of Nzhdeh. The enemy occupied Goris, Kapan, Sisian.

In Meghri, Nzhdeh was surrounded on three sides by Russians, Turks and Tatars, and was pressed against the Persian border.

Thus, Nzhdeh was completely cut off from the rest of the Armenian forces. And it seemed that there was no hope.

While the Armenian army on the Kars front was defeated, Nzhdeh in Syunik made his victory, relying only on the population of 5-6 villages.

At this time, he wrote his famous Khustup appeals to the Kapans. The battle lasted 40 days.

On October 5, 1920, Nzhdeh sent his last appeal to the Kapans, warning them of his approach. On October 10, he already liberated Kapan, and on November 18, Goris. Bolsheviks, Turks and Tatars were expelled from Syunik.

It’s hard to believe, but it’s a real fact.
