Artik, Armenia – Cultural Chronology of Bronze Age

Among the Armenian settlements that could shed some light on the chronology of the Bronze Age culture of ancient populations of the Armenian Highlands is Artik, a no less important site than Lchashen.

One could draw many parallels between the archaeological finds in Artik and Lchashen. The bronze tools and weaponry discovered in Artik are very similar to those of Lchashen in their inlays ornamented with images of snakes.

The figurines of deer and birds from both sites also share plenty of common features. Some of the features of the finds also attest to the increasing value of horses in the Transcaucasia. In particular, Lchashen held a number of light carts undoubtedly carried by horses, as well as spoked wheels.
