The Lost Armenian Fathers of Zealand Children

In the years of WWII, the 812 German battalion that consisted of Armenian soldiers exclusively was deployed in the Dutch province of Zealand. There, Armenian soldiers would soon contact the resistance and become favored by the locals, and especially the local girls.

While some of them had gotten pregnant, those Armenian soldiers who survived the war would be suddenly summoned by Soviet leaders. Eventually, Stalin put them on trial, and many ended up in Siberian labor camps.

In the below 5-part documentary, the children of the lost Armenian soldiers talk about their lives without their fathers, about their experiences, and about their search for them.
