Turkey – Travel Agency For Jihadists – Greek Foreign Minister

On October 26, in Athens, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias met his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov. The parties discussed a number of regional issues.

Referring to the illegal activities of Turkey in the region, as well as the mercenaries transferred from Syria to Azerbaijan, Dendias said that Turkey has become a travel agency for jihadists.

“Unfortunately, the common denominator of all regional events is the destabilizing factor of Turkey. I expressed concern about Turkey’s role as a travel agency for jihadists,” he said.

According to Dendias, the escalation of tension in the region is in Turkey’s interests.

“The relations between our countries are centuries old. We have managed to strengthen bilateral political contacts,” said the Greek Foreign Minister.

Lavrov, in turn, said that the current tension and problems in Turkish-Greek relations should be resolved only through dialogue.

The parties also discussed the sale of S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems by Russia to Turkey.
