Seven Covenants of Garegin Nzhdeh

.The fastidious God of War only listens to and helps those who are brave. Cowards appeal to him in vain. He is deaf to their pleas.

.The one who has already defeated himself, the one who has already killed the fear of death in him always wins.

.Only those who serve in the name of the Fatherland and Philanthropy multiply the glory of their people. To serve without purpose, to serve because it is obligatory, to wear epaulets on shoulders just to earn money for a piece of bread means to be doomed to perform the most disrespectful and inglorious deeds that could ever be intended for a mere mortal. Woe betide you, army, if your ranks consist of them. Possess all the virtues of a warrior but do not forget that the first and most important thing without which the fastidious God of War will not even smile at you is courage.

.Treat yourself as if you are doomed, being ready to accept death at any moment for the sake of protecting your country and your people.

.Be courageous, highly moral, and hardy. These three qualities will bring you closer to perfection.

.With long and serious hard work, kill in yourself the fear of death, and you will not be left without glory and out of history.

.With sunny Japanese love, love your Fatherland and repeat the words of the Japanese emperor daily like a prayer. If we are deeply aware that love for our native country and people is closer to the great and beautiful Sun than the highest mountains of our country, death will seem easier for each of us.
