Armenia takes part in the Hague Wine Festival

On May 13, the Crown Plaza Promenade of the Hague hosted the annual Diplomats Wine Extravaganza festival organized by the Diplomat Magazine. Armenia was showcased at this event for the first time with a wide range of wines, brandies, and vodka imported by Royal Beverages Group.

According to NEWS.am and the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to the Netherlands Tigran Balayan participated in the wine festival. He thanked the leadership of Royal Beverages Group for the excellent equipment of the Armenian pavilion and the proper presentation of Armenian products.

Scientific and artistic event dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Komitas

On May 24-25, 2019, the event “Days of Komitas” was held in Galatia. On May 24, musicologist Burku Yildiz gave a speech dedicated to Komitas. On May 25, a lecturer from the Church of the Holy Trinity Murat Ikhlinalcha presented the audience with the lecture “The Legacy of Komitas in Armenian Church Music” and performed works by the great Komitas.

The translation of Yeghishe Charents’ “Dante’s Legend” presented in Rome

The presentation of the Italian translation of Yeghishe Charents’ “Dante’s Legend” took place in Rome.

As reported by Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the book was translated by the joint efforts of the professors of the University of Pisa Alfonso Pompella and Stefano Garzonio. President of the association of the Armenian community of Rome and Lazio Anush Torunyan assisted with the translation as well.

The presentation was attended by the Armenian Ambassador to Italy Victoria Baghdasaryan. She gave a speech at the event, expressing her gratitude for the implementation of the Italian translation of the poem.

His Holiness Garegin II attended the ceremony of the 350th anniversary of the Armenian Church of Heraklion on Crete

On the evening of May 3, His Holiness Garegin II, the High Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, arrived on Crete. The Catholicos is to hold a ceremony dedicated to the 350th anniversary of the Hovhannes Karapet Armenian Church in Heraklion.

Exhibition of Armenian khachkars opened in the main temple of Ireland

At Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin, Ireland, a photo exhibition dedicated to Armenian khachkars was opened in 2019 on the occasion of the 104th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

“Thanks to this unique photo exhibition, visitors to the cathedral will be able to find out a lot of interesting things about the similarities and differences between Armenian khachkars and traditional Irish cross monuments,” writes an Irish media source.

On the occasion of the 104th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, a memorial service was held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Dublin for the victims of the great tragedy.

Spanish journalist publishes an article on the Armenian Genocide in the Catalan language

Catalan newspaper “ARA” published an article by Spanish journalist Ethel Bonet about the atrocities of Turkish governments against Armenians.

To prepare the material, the journalist visited Armenia with the assistance of the European Friends of Armenia non-governmental organization. The organization assisted the journalist in organizational matters, collected all the materials necessary for the article, provided preliminary information about the Armenian Genocide, organized a visit to Tsitsernakaberd, and, more notably, contacted the descendants of genocide survivors to arrange an interview with them.
