Little-Known Details of the Operation Nemesis

Only few people know that the great Armenian poet Avetik Isahakyan participated in the operation Nemesis.

Avetik Isahakyan (Ավետիք Իսահակյան) was born in Alexandropol on October 30, 1875. He was a prominent Armenian lyric poet, writer, and public activist.

It was he who tracked down Talaat Pasha in Berlin and supplied Soghomon Tehlirian with weapons. He stood at the end of the street with a pistol to safeguard Tehlirian in case he fails.

Standing with a gun, the poet only thought of retribution. He thought that the one responsible for the Armenian Genocide does not have the right to peacefully walk on the Earth.

Avetik Isahakyan died on October 17, 1957, and was buried at the Komitas Pantheon which is located in the city center of Yerevan.
