In Memory of General Kristapor Ivanyan

Kristapor Ivanyan laid the foundations of the Artsakh Defense Army and its combat training system. The high training of Armenian artillery is possible thanks to the artillery school that was laid by Kristapor Ivanyan.

Ivanyan was a participant and award bearer of the Great Patriotic War. He arrived in Artsakh to fight in the Artsakh War when he was already over 70 years old. After its liberation, Khojalu was renamed Ivanyan in honor of the legendary military man, “the father of Armenian artillery”.
