Mark John Geragos – One Of The Most Influential American Lawyers

Born in 1957 in Los Angeles into an Armenian family whose ancestors ended up in the United States as a result of the 1915 genocide, Mark Geragos received a law degree and then founded the “Association of Young Armenian Lawyers” which is operational to this day.

In 2004, Geragos defended pop king Michael Jackson who was accused of molesting 13-year-old Gavin Arvizo. Geragos hired a private detective to keep an eye on the family of the boy who, in his opinion, simply wanted to make money off slander. Thanks to the efforts of some of the best lawyers in the United States, Michael Jackson was found not guilty on all 10 counts of the charges against him of seducing a teenager.

In addition to Michael Jackson, among Mark Geragos’ clients were Winona Ryder, Greg Andreson, Chris Brown, and Robert Downey Jr. Mark Geragos was also the personal lawyer for Martin Harutyunyan in the case against New York Life Insurance regarding the payment of insurance premiums to more than one and a half million Armenians who suffered during the genocide.

Geragos is considered one of the richest lawyers in the United States. The well-known lawyer has become the official representative of the US Armenian Diaspora in a number of organizations. He has also been awarded the prestigious awards of the National Committee of America and is one of the officials of the Hayastan Armenian Foundation.

In regard to Michael Jackson, in March 2019, director Dan Reed released a documentary dedicated to two men who claim that they had been sexually assaulted by singer Michael Jackson as children.

After the film’s release, a number of radio stations around the world refused to play Jackson’s songs. The items of the singer and his poster were removed from the Indianapolis Children’s Museum, and the episode from the animated series “The Simpsons” with the participation of the king of pop music was withdrawn from the series’ run.
