The Georgian Names of Armenia and Armenians
In Georgian, Armenians are referred to as “Somekhi”, while Armenia is called “Somkheti”. In medieval Georgian accounts, the region inhabited by Armenians was called “Somkhiti”, which has been the past geographical term for Armenia.
