Araks Football Club Constantinople was a historic Armenian football club that was founded in 1908 in Constantinople (modern-day Istanbul). The club was established by a group of Armenian youth who were passionate about football and wanted to promote the sport within their community.
Araks FC quickly rose to prominence and became one of the most successful clubs in the Ottoman Empire, winning numerous championships and tournaments.
The team’s colors were blue and white, and they played their home matches at the famous Papazyan Stadium, which was the largest and most modern football venue in Constantinople at the time. Araks FC had a strong fanbase, consisting mainly of Armenian supporters, but their success on the field also earned them respect and admiration from fans of other ethnicities.
The club’s glory days came to an end with the outbreak of World War I and the subsequent Armenian Genocide, which forced many Armenian footballers and fans to flee the country. Araks FC disbanded in 1915, but its legacy lives on as a symbol of Armenian cultural and sporting heritage.
