The Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) shared footage from July 4, 1918, where US Armenians participate in the Independence Day parade in New York.

The footage also shows Armenians visiting the White House, urging the US to support the newly established independent Republic of Armenia. They also offered a history lesson, covering the battle of Hayk and Bel and the battle of Vardanants.

2020 marked the 100th anniversary of the establishment of relations between the United States and Armenia. The United States officially recognized the Republic of Armenia on April 23, 1920, when they welcomed Dr. Karekin Pastermadjian (Armen Garo) as Armenia’s first ambassador to the United States.
