France on Tuesday called on European Union leaders to take action against Turkey after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan questioned the mental health of French President Emmanuel Macron and called for a boycott of French goods.
“France is one and Europe is one. At the next meeting of the European Council, Europe will have to make decisions that will allow it to strengthen the balance of power with Turkey in order to better protect its interests and European values,” French Trade Minister Franck Riester told lawmakers without going into details.
