Actor Mike Connors (Mannix) aka Jay Ohanian was born in Fresno in 1925, the son of Krikor Ohanian and Alice Surabian. Her father, who was from Harput, came to America in 1902.

He became the highest-paid actor on television and was nominated for four Emmy Awards and six Golden Globes. He died from leukemia at the age of 91 in 2017.
