Armenian Festival in The Capital of ArgentinaThousands of people came to the square in the area of Palermo called “small Armenia” to take part in the festival called “Buenos Aires Honors Armenia“. The event was held with the assistance of the city hall, the embassy of Armenia, and the Ministry of Diaspora of Armenia.

Since midday, the guests enjoyed live music, folk dances, the Armenian cuisine, participated in interactive plays, chess games, visited various thematic exhibitions, shows, participated in readings, a mini football tournament was organized for schoolchildren. Not only Armenians gathered in Palermo: the festival interested both local residents and numerous tourists.

A concert was performed by singers Grigor Mirzoyan, Arman Gasparyan, several groups of Armenian folk dances Masis, Gayane, Nairi, Narekatsi, Nor Araks, violinist Aida Simonyan, and other artists, who received a hearty response from the public.

Speaking about the atmosphere that surrounded the festival, the photos of its participants and guests speak eloquently. The event was a part of the “Buenos Aires Celebra” program designed to honor the communities living in Argentina and develop intercultural ties.
