In historical Armenia (now occupied by Turkey), in an area under the Turkish name Gusir Höyük, an ancient artifact was found, an image of a Queen bee carved on a piece of stone dating back to 9600–8800. BC
Commentary on the artifact by Sukias Torosyan:
“At first glance, it may seem that nothing special …. Just a picture of a Queen bee on a piece of stone
But In fact, this artifact proves the existence of beekeeping in the region in those ancient times.”
