On September 9, Deputy Governor of Lori Gayane Markosyan received the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia Lynne Tracy. She was accompanied by Lia Miller, Public Affairs Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Armenia.
Gayane Markosyan greeted the Ambassador and expressed her gratitude for the U.S. government-funded programs in Lori Province.
The Ambassador also thanked Markosyan for the warm welcome, noting that the purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the progress of a number of programs implemented with the financial support of the U.S. government in the region, and also to visit the Sanahin monastery.
Sanahin participates in programs for the protection of cultural heritage implemented by the U.S. Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation. Within the framework of the programs, restoration works in some parts of the complex are planned.
