We present to your attention a recently appeared photo taken in a period that was considered the peak of the national liberation struggle in both halves of Armenia – Eastern and Western.
The photo dating to 1905 shows a group of armed Armenian women. Given the photo’s context, particularly noteworthy is the assassination attempt on Sultan Abdul Hamid in Constantinople committed in July 1905 by a group led by Rubina Areshyan, an Armenian woman from Tiflis.
